Creating a Marketing Plan for Your Blog - Pt 4

In the final post of the four part series, Creating a Marketing Plan for Your Blog, I am going to cover how you can create new promotional products cheaply (as in free), market your current goods or items, and how to tag your content to get even more traffic.  The previous 3 installments can be read here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

The first thing I am going to discuss is about how you can create your own original content and distribute it effectively.  This is possible by writing your own solution to a common problem associated within the topic of your blog.  By creating a document, usually a PDF file, that is easily read my many on all different platforms, that offers solutions to people’s problems, you become an expert in your field and build credibility.  This is something you create that is completely original and free to do (only your time is involved, but it is always available to those searching for it).  If you do not have Adobe PDF creator, you can use MS Word or similar program to write your document, and then use an online file converter to create your PDF for free.  I personally use Doc2PDF to convert all of my MS Word documents to PDF for free.  Depending on the length, complexity and how deep you delve into a problem, you can either offer your new E-book for free to distribute to as many potential readers and subscribers as possible, or you may charge a fee for your e-book and generate revenue from it.  Again, all of this is possible for the price of nothing.

The next thing you can do to market your current goods or services is two fold.  For one, you can market them on your own site thru your own online marketplace.  For my online marketplace I use Cerizmo.  They offer digital content download management integrated via your Paypal account.  It works like this: The customer is taken to your product/service page, if they choose to purchase your item, they click a link to buy.  They are then taken to their Paypal account and are asked to verify their wish to purchase.  Once they agree to submit payment, they are redirected to a download page (if applicable) where they are given a link to download your product.  If something goes wrong, they are still emailed a link to their email address on file with Paypal where the again have the opportunity to download it again.  Cerizmo does not charge anything for this service if your monthly sales are below $100.  It is a great software package for those who are just starting out and do not have a large sales volume or are very new to web marketplaces and offer digital content for download.

The other way to market your goods is thru Ebay.  Ebay offers a very low cost solution to introduce and offer your items to a potential large audience.  You can even place a link on your blog that links to your auction or Ebay Store so your viewers have an easy way to find your products.  You can also read a few other words of advice I gave on Ebay here if you are interested.

One final avenue I am recommending you look into more is tagging your posts with tags that are highly relevant and directly relate to your post’s content.  I and many others use Simple Tags for just this purpose.  Simple tags has a few different ways of offering ideas on what you should use to tag your posts.  First it searches your post for key words and selects key ones for you to choose from.  You may also then select an option that uses Yahoo Term Extractions API for suggestions on relevant key words and also Tag the Net for the same purpose.  It is a very useful and powerful plugin to maximize your use of relevant tagged words for you blog posts.

There are numerous other things you can do market your blog obviously, I have covered more then twelve simple ones to implement into your blog and it’s creation to successfully get your blog off the ground and flying.  I will continue to offer more suggestions in the future here at LawsMoney to help you keep your blog thriving for your growing community.  If you have any suggestions on what you do for your blog to market it, please share them as we all can learn something new from each other.
